As the world’s leaders gathered in Scotland for the UN’s COP26 summit, amazingly, one item was missing from the official agenda: The effects of climate change on our minds.
According to research, global temperatures can have a direct effect on conditions such as Epilepsy, Stroke and a range of Mental Health conditions. We wanted to turn this news into the news.
EPICC, the NHS, The Climate Change Action Unit, University College Hospital, The Epilepsy Society, UCB Pharma & The National Brain Appeal, together with Scotland’s largest national newspaper, present: The EnvironMental Issue, The first newspaper to clean the air and help people with neurological conditions at the same time.
A one-off ‘living’ newspaper made from algae, bringing together the leading voices in the field to discuss the issues around climate change and brain health.
The EnvironMental Issue was produced using living algae ink; It was printed on Mohawk paper with recycled fibre, with pulp sourced from sustainable forests, and manufactured using electricity generated by wind power. The overall carbon impact of the project has the long-term equivalent of removing 15 tonnes of C02 from the atmosphere.
